When Anya emerged at the end of the initiation period, she was surprised what made her cry out with recognition. Most of all, it was the sun. When she looked up and saw the sun, she cried. For the first time, she perceived that light, like water, is capable of permeating everything. Every color, shape, shadow, and reflection receives its singular definition solely because of light. She cried because like everyone, she used to take so much for granted.
